Model Act Studios is Faulse!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

How can the review be a FALSE one Robert if they are basing it on their own firsthand experience. Please, stop with the "victim act".

These people all witnessed firsthand, in person, including myself, their own personal experience. They chose to write, good or bad, reviews. I wrote mine. You begged me to take it off.

I saved our emails. I even went to IMDB to look up your acting history.. You put yourself up on it. You have nothing listed.

It just states that it was self promoted. Not promoted or placed by IMDb or any of its agents.

To me, that is pretty shady and misleading... all so you can make it on a google search?

Yes they have an agenda. They tell you they are only inviting 10 to 15 people back.

For their so-called small classes that they will have. This is a shame how they treat people.

I recommend all stay away. They are liars.

Had the same experience! They are not choosey at all.

If they think you can pay their fees, then you're in! It doesn't matter to them what you look like or how talented you are. It's a numbers game!

The more they can sign up, the more money they make! Parents be very, very cautious!!!

Guest

People are finally catching on that Robert Masny and Model Act Studios is a scam!!

Guest

Not only does he have no acting experience, but he is always looking for acting coaches which must be a sign! This guy is in it to make money!!!!

Model Act Studios Talent Services Review from Naperville, Illinois

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Parents, you're well-educated people! All you have to do is get some head shots of your child and submit them to Toys 'R Us, Kmart, Sears, JC Penney's, Old Navy, Macy's, American Girl Doll, Disney, Gap, etc.

You get the idea. It takes very little effort and not a lot of money. Do you think Model Act Studios really deserves the outrageous amount they charge to do that. I have s friend who's daughter was so beautiful but she didn't have the money to pay Model Act.

They turned her daughter away! Why? Because they knew that she had no money to give them. Just ask them if they are willing to take your child on a contingency basis?

Meaning when your child gets work then you can pay them? Something tells me the answer will be "NO!"

Yes please Educate yourself! You need an agent to submit your photo to casting for opportunities at any major department store like Macy's etc.

There is a process! You do need training to be a model or actor!

Just like becoming a dancer or baseball player. Anything in life requires traing or education!

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1109672

Dude! If you had an education, you would be an "agent" scamming people.

Your services aren't needed. People can simply submit headshots to department store, model agency or casting calls (even of Facebook), they are always looking for talent. Stop misinforming parents.

They don't need to invest a lot of money! They say, "those who can't, teach." I can't stand when people are being taken advantage of!

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1112419

Dude! You are the one sadley miss informed!!!!!

I'm not arguing over your ignorance!!! Yes you can submit and go to open calls at a Modeling agency and perhaps you may be discovered. However you need photos that they charge to you expense account. It's not free!!!

Once you earn an income the agency deducts the expenses out of your account. There is so much more Dude that you clearly don't understand about the industry!

FYI I am an Agent who thinks very highly of the talent that I have discovered at Models Act!

Model Act Studios, Schaumburg, IL is also a scam!

Owner, Robert Michael (fake name--actually Robert Masny) formerly worked for John Casablancas and got greety and started up his own company Model Act Studios. People never trust anyone who disguises his real name.

You don't need to pay these scammers for head shots or someone to be your agent. If you are wanted to badly, a real modeling agency will sign you up in a second. Try Ford Modeling or the other ones that are reputable. Don't line these peoples pockets!

They don't care about your kinds! All they care about is profiting from your kids and they'll tell you what you want to hear for that to happen!

Guest

I think model act is a great place to be, this place will make your dreams come true! All you haters out there think again about what you say.

Guest

What a great company. They are very helpful and guide us in acting /modeling.

My child has been with them for about 5 months and have had tons of auditions. Robert and staff are great!!

Model Act Studios, you do realize that Kids get modeling and acting jobs with out the help of services such as your agency? Please stop lying to these parents that they have more of a chance of landing work by going through you!

You do realize that what sells is the image and they DO NOT need your services at all? Of course you do, but you won't share that with the parents, because that would be money away from you!

I went to a couple of agencies, REAL agencies and they say my kid is not ready for this. So, training?

Help from these guys would probably help? Some of their success stories are great but then I see this.

Everyone is an expert these days. I will give it a try.

No one gets TONS of auditions! The business is very competitive so don't mislead people.

That's awful for you to give parents false hope. I can't help but notice as someone who was looking into this for my Child that Model Act Studios has never responded to anyone's concerns?

Guest

Thank you for your honesty. I almost went there.

I had an appointment and canceled.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. After doing research, I am finding a lot of complaints about Model Act Studios in Schaumburg.

Guest

Model Act Studio Completely Unprofessional

I have had a VERY bad experience with Model Act Studios in Schaumburg, IL. It is a spin off of John Casablancas and you know their reputation, I'm sure. You can't possibly believe that these "modeling agencies" are in the business because they truly want to help your child. They are all about the money! I had a terrible experience and I refuse to ever go a company like this. I told them that I want out because they weren't doing anything for my kids. I asked for my money back and am still waiting for it several months later.

My son has been with MAS for almost two years and within this time period he has many opportunities to meet with many of casting directors and talent agencies. My son also has also booked work through the agencies that have come to MAS for monthly auditions, such as: New Balance, Demco, and Fatal Visions. His acting ability has increased because of the consistent coaching provided by MAS coaches. in addition, my son is now on his way to work with a talent agency in Los Angeles, because of his hard work oustide of the training that he is given semi monthly. Finally, parents you are paying for classes, this is a private program which cost to run. Just because your child is beautiful doesn't mean they will get cast or picked up by a ton of agencies. It all depends on that particular agent and what is in their database. Research more before you jump to assumptions.

Really!?! Come on!!!

Those casting directors get paid by Model Act Studios to come to the studio!

You think they'll do it for free? They're all working together but not to help your child, but to get rich!

Guest

What is the cost roughly, just curious for my knowledge looking to sign with them.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1280158

I'm suspicious that MAS didn't respond to your question about the cost? I wonder why?

Is there something that they don't want the public to know!?! It's a simple and necessary question!

Guest

It's $300 down

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1345046

Okay, $300 is just the down payment! What is that?

10% of the total of $3,000 and up!!! People, save your money!

Changed their name again...

Any time a business changes their name every few years, it is a HUGE RED FLAG that they are Running from something. I heard they just changed again to "I'm A Star" I guess they think they can hide from the reviews and bad reputation by changing their name every couple of years...This company started as Casting Hub. I know this because when I responded to a radio ad for Model Act Studio and no one answered the phone, I kept pressing "0" to try to get a live person. In fact a recording came on saying Casting Hub. So they have changed their name every couple of years. First Casting Hub then Model Act Studio now I'm a Star. I guess they are trying to hide from the bad reviews.

We are sorry these are all faulse claims. I am not affiliated with Casting Hub or any other company except our own or have ever changed my name. We do not charge from representation. We send talent to training if you do not have any experience and work will all the Sag Agency's in Chicago. We do our best & have many happy models and talent. However, many times people who only visited here but never worked with us or COMPETITORS have written faulse reports. By IP address these anonymous posters can be found and charged with faulse claims. Our goal is to develop and guide aspiring models and talent and to help find them opportunities. For those who continue to wonder if we are real , we encourage them to look at the success stories of the models and talent who began their careers by learning with us. I welcome you to have a tour of our studio and see the positive environment at M A S. We can show you the truth. You also can call 847-230-****.

SO What if he worked there? JC has tons of success stories, and not everyone will make it in this industry, so they have tons of "bad stories" as well, just like anyone else.

Parents, don't get your expectations too high, or your childrens' hopes up. Let them have fun, learn public speaking, interview skills and if it's meant to be, it will happen.

If not, oh well, many of us went to college and ended up working in another field. Stage moms, relax.

Stage moms relax!?! So disresptful!!!

It's a HUGE investment! It costs a lot!!! You are calling parents names because they have valid questions! You sound too carefree!

Parents want to know who they expose their kids to and if it is worth there hard earned money! Relax my a@&!

I have had a great experience.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My Child has been with Robert & MAS for about 8 months. He has booked 3 commercials and have had a great positive experience. Look on the Facebook page and you can see a ton of the bookings. Sounds like stage parents because there child didn't book anything. People always have to blame someone else. You have to put in the work and they help you a ton. Its sad that people have to write false bad reviews. The staff there are amazing and have learned a ton. They don't promise you work because no one can. Why do people have to try to ruin it for others. Try it out, they are really great

Reading the above review, I can't help but be suspicious and ask why would you call someone's experience and opinion a "false bad review"? Aren't we all entitled to our opinions?

Isn't this why this forum exists, to comment about a "personal" experience? Frankly you being so defensive and protective makes me wonder what you have at stake?

I appreciate the honesty of the previous review because as parents, we need to do more to protect our kids! I have no respect for a company that would take advantage of a child to make a profit and you can paint it any way you would like but that is exactly what it is.

Guest

Just like that, ha? Try it out?

You do realize huge money is at stake? Not to mention to drag my child from their homework and after school activities and my valuable time.

But just like that, try it out? Are you for real?

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1094303

Are you for real? This an opportunity in the arts that is not any different than any activity I've supported for my son that plays hockey.

Which I have spent thousands of dollars on. I have a son that prefers the arts. I will support and in courage classes for him as well. It is a same shame that you are slandering this company.

I have to wonder are you there competer? Running around writing invaded reviews!!!!

Guest

Several people, not only myself, had a bad experience! We have all come together to make others aware!

How much did they pay you to say that? How much did you actually make compared to the money you put out? Stop trying to paint a rosie picture! Anyone can slap a name on a door and call it a business!!!

You do realize that the MAJORITY of the kids do not get work and will NEVER get work but are encouraged to enter the program on a next to nothing or slim chance that they might? Meanwhile lining the pockets of Model Act Studios. Folks google these types of agencies.

All you will see is negative reviews! I am just putting my experience with Model Act Studios out there to warn others!

Well I have to disagree. I have had the best relationship with MAS.

Rob and his coaches are very helpful and they work with you if you work with them. Also, MAS does not promise you that your child will get picked immediately, but they do promise to get your child familiar with on screen camera techniques, modeling, and improvisation. Parents remember you must put in work if you want your child to have a chance to succeed.

MAS has 6 auditions that are set up within 6 months of training. Therefore, you as the parent must assist with learning the material.

Go on this link or Google John Casablancas Oakbrook is a LIE! It is very informative.

Rob Masny, owner of Model Act Studios, used to work for John Casablancas.

The review was written by a former employee who couldn't stand the way they deceived people so they wrote the review. Hope this helps before you waste your hard-earned money.

I have spoken to several unhappy parents. Sounds like this is Model Act Studios responding to save their reputation.

Too many complaints, people have already realized that this is a scam. Not working MAS. Sham on you for blaming the parents! They do put in the work.

They and their children put in so many hours only to get broken promises and an empty pocket book while you put blame on others. Typical!!!

I am a parent of MAS, and not by any means on payroll. I have a son that has been on several auditions and has only received a call back from MAS.

I know that talent agencies have different looks that they want at certain times. Yes, it is disappointing when a child is not picked up by talent agencies, but we as parents must keep their spirits up and think outside the box.

I researched other agencies and sent information. MAS in my opinion is a workshop/training program that help children with their skill.
